The Road We're On

When We Encountered the Lord Jesus · 2024 to August 2025

For years, Hailey and I were both searching for the purpose of life.

Four months in — still in love, still chasing truth — we were living 2,100 miles apart when, within a few days of each other, we both had life-changing encounters with Jesus Christ.

One month later, my dad baptized us both in the ocean.

That first year of being saved was harder than anything we had walked through before.

The Gospel

The cross — sin cursed and dying, once and for all — a sacrifice.

For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

Hebrews 10:10 (NLT)

The blood — washing me white as snow, cleansing me.

Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.

Isaiah 1:18 (NLT)

The resurrection — the tomb empty — born to new life as a new creation in Christ.

He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen.

Matthew 28:6 (NLT)

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)

The Invitation · Summer 2025

We came to Fort Worth for school.

At the end of August 2025 — a year after the ocean — we were baptized a second time, and gave our marriage back to Him too.

Saying yes meant leaving what was familiar, finding work and a place to live in a city we hardly knew, and trusting the call was real before we could see how any of it would work.

We came anyway.

We Kept Going · August 2025 to May 2026

Our faith, leadership, and life were stretched in ways we did not expect.

We still help host a weekly House Church in our home.

We finished Year 1 still learning, still together, and more certain of the direction than when we started.

LCU gave us opportunities to learn alongside others, serve, create, and keep showing up through a demanding season.

We did not give up, and we remain committed to continuing our Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies.

Where We Are Now · July to August 2026

We spent a summer not knowing where we would land.

On August 10 we signed for another place and moved in the same day.

We are preparing our home — and our hearts — to grow.

For a few weeks everything we owned sat in a house we had no lease on, and we did not know where we were going to live.

We are also praying about and preparing for our family to grow.

The Road Ahead · Now to January 2028

We said yes to finishing what we started.

We are both continuing at Lifestyle Christianity University through December 2027, then a one-year internship after that.

Thank you for reading our story.

What we thought was a one-year season turned out to be the first stretch of something longer — school to finish, a home to build, and people to keep showing up for.
